ZTLearn.com - New Name, New URL, Same Web Hoarder Content

posted Jan 27, 2017, 7:31 AM by Anthony Luscre   [ updated Jan 27, 2017, 7:41 AM ]

With my recent retirement from SPARCC, I am making a few changes. The first is that techweb@apps.sparcc.org is now ZTLearn.com. The new address is a site I own and operate, along with a second site, K8ZT.com where Amateur Radio, Cooking, Trains & More are covered. If you are used to using the shortened URL - tiny.cc/wrh, it will now bring you to the new site. I would like to thank Eric Curts and Nick Hain at SPARCC for their assistance in moving this site and doing all of that magic DNS changing and linking stuff. The 2nd retirement change is my email addresses for all things Ed Tech anthony@ZTLearn.com and a@k8zt.com. The 3rd change is not really a change- even though I have "retired" I will continue to be involved in Ed Tech with speaking at conferences, maintain this website and my presence on Edmodo (https://edmodo.com/aluscre) and provide Edmodo Spotlight Resources (https://spotlight.edmodo.com/profile/anthony-luscre,1168902), private consulting and training, working on projects with colleagues, writing and more. I will also continue to be involved in STEM Education and projects with my roles in both Amateur Radio and Electronics.

5 Fab Features of Google Docs

posted Aug 24, 2016, 9:43 AM by Anthony Luscre   [ updated Aug 24, 2016, 9:43 AM ]

5 Fab Features of Google Docs

  1. Voice Typing- Docs now includes the ability to speak to your computer and your words will appear in your Doc. It works well, uses context-sensitive clues to choose the correct form of words that sound the same, it allows multiple languages and more!

  2. Insert Special Characters- Forget the Alt + ASCII code for your needed special characters. Docs now allow you to find and insert hundreds of special characters by simply drawing an example with your mouse or using the text searching tools.

  3. Turn your static PDFs into Docs that you can edit and type in via Google Drive's OCR which is ran on the file and it is converted to a Google Doc.

  4. Revision History- View and/or restore your document to any point in its “life”. No more accidental deletions. You can also see who made the changes and when. With an Add-on you can even see what percentage each student participated in a writing project.

  5. Research Tool- Imagine using Google Search right in your document. Find information, definitions, images and more. Has built-in citation and linking capability!
